12月18日，由英国海外志愿服务社、共青团北京市委员会和北京市志愿者联合会共同主办的2012中国志愿服务博览会在北京大学英杰交流中心开幕。中国国际经济技术交流中心副主任赵中屹、团市委副书记杨海滨、团市委机关党委书记、市志愿服务指导中心主任郭新保、联合国开发计划署驻华代表处国别副主任何佩德先生、联合国志愿人员组织项目经理宋宜女士、英国使馆政务处二秘Caroline Quinn女士、英国海外志愿服务社亚太区企业关系发展经理Simon Brown、英国海外志愿服务社北京代表处首席代表陈婉芬女士、英格兰志愿服务组织理事、利物浦志愿者中心主任Tessa Willow出席会议。


　　会议首先由英国海外志愿服务社北京代表处首席代表陈婉芬女士、商务部中国国际经济技术交流中心副主任赵中屹先生、英国驻华使馆政务处二等秘书Caroline Quinn女士，共青团北京市委员会副书记杨海滨先生分别致辞。此后，团市委机关党委书记、市志愿服务指导中心主任郭新保和中国人民大学教授魏娜共同发布了国内第一部志愿者专业译著《志愿者》一书。《志愿者》由美国学者马克、缪吉克（Ma r c A. Mus i ck ）以及约翰、 威尔逊（ John Wilson）通过一系列的调查研究，为当今世界的志愿者做了详细的描绘，并且利用最先进的视角收集了美国以及世界各地的数据来进行分析，对志愿的因果进行了综合检验，深刻阐述了是什么原因吸引了特定类型的志愿者，又是什么激励了人们做志愿，以及如何说服志愿者继续他们的服务等内容。
据悉，本次志博会以“珍视志愿服务，共建美丽中国”为主题，吸引了120多家来自北京及外省市、港澳台地区、国际组织等机构的政府、企业和民间组织参与。



2012中国志愿服务博览会共举办两天，绿色啄木鸟公益组织受组委会邀请，12月18日上午进行博览会开幕式及主论坛讨论，下午分别从志愿服务的资源配置、后奥运时代的志愿服务常态化、企业志愿服务、中国志愿服务的国际化、社区志愿服务以及城市管理中的应急志愿服务等不同领域和角度举办六个分论坛，进行志愿服务的深入探讨，12月19日上午举办志愿服务展台，为NGO组织提供一个展示风采的平台，下午为多个领域的志愿服务专题培训，提高志愿服务的专业性。


在大会期间，绿色啄木鸟公益组织参加了多场分论坛，志愿者代表李双颖，蒋巍，陈岩，郭辉等同志积极参与，发放垃圾分类书籍“绿蛙在行动”100本，现场招募志愿者20名。其中参加“社区志愿服务”分论坛，“应急志愿服务平台和队伍建设”分论坛及“志愿服务项目的督导和评估”，会议期间，各组织之间进行了交流，提高了各志愿服务的积极主动性。
